What is CALL?
Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) is defined as "the search for and study of
applications of the computer in language teaching and learning" (Levy : 1997)
CALL embraces a wide range of information and communications technology
applications and approaches to teaching and learning foreign languages.
In the other word, CALL is a method in learning process which uses computer as an assistant (media, material, etc). Since technology is getting more advanced nowadays, teachers of foreign language, especially English, are required to be creative and innovative to find and use a current method in teaching their students. Teachers may use the advanced technology to teach their student in hope that the learning process can acquire a maximum result.
Background
Cooking Academy 2 is a very good game software to be used in CALL activities since this game uses many words in English. As this game provides many words related to cooking or kitchen, student of English can improve their vocabulary. I decided to use this game software as a CALL software in this paper because of some reasons, e.g. (1) this game is simply very easy to play by any levels of learner. Clear tutorial and familiar steps of playing make the player can play it easily. (2) This game is enjoyable because you are going to play this game only by mouse, you won't have to use keyboard to assist you in playing this game. Further, this game provides beautiful colors and pictures which will fondle your eyes, very interesting to see. (3) The small size also is the reason that I choose this game to be used in CALL activity.

Cooking Academy 2 is a game by Game House which will bring you into the World Culinary Workshop
for a whirlwind adventure in a global kitchen. In this game, you are going to make your through 60
different recipes including Chinese BBQ Pork Buns, Mexican Tamales,
Japanese Sushi, American Hot Dogs, and more. It requires you to master new skills and
mini-games like food processors, mixers, and raiding the fridge. Probably
you will learn a few new secrets to try in your own kitchen!
The
game’s vivid colors made an initial positive impact. The music on
the screen where you select a building to enter sounds like cool jazz
from a Moog synthesizer.
That same screen is animated with tiny townspeople jogging or strolling
along the streets, so even when you are not actively playing, the game is
interesting to watch. In
Cooking Academy 2, you will be a student and you are competing against other students (though not
directly) to receive the grand prize of $1,000,000. The real competition, though, is
against yourself as you try to beat the clock to prepare a meal
perfectly. Further, you are allowed to retry recipes if at first you don’t succeed.
You are even allowed to practice the various steps. Therefore, it is difficult not to achieve 5 stars on a
meal unless you are simply too anxious to proceed to the next recipe.
You can continue to the next stage in a recipe despite having received a
poor score in previous stage, if you so desire.

Conclusion & Recommendation
Well, that all about using game software "Cooking Academy 2" in CALL activity (teaching and learning process). To sum up, CALL is all about using computer as an assistant in teaching and learning process, it can be either material or media in teaching.
Using game software is one of a fun way to teach English to the student because it is simply interesting to the students. Game software can be used as media at every levels of learner, but teachers themselves have to provide an appropriate guidance to each level of learners.
Game Software sometimes make the students lost their focus of the main subject, so the teacher has to control every single activity in learning using Game Software.
